Maria Brown, RJ, is the Vice President and Co-Owner of a third-generation, female-owned jewelry store, Exclusively Diamonds. In 2020, Maria’s company launched a live show called “Wine Wednesday” that has curated over six million views. Maria previously served on the AGS International Board of Directors. In 2022, Maria received the AGS Young Titleholder of the Year award. In 2023, Maria was named Top 20 Under 40 for Retail Jewelers in America.

Cathy Calhoun, CGA

Calhoun Jewelers & Calhoun Estate Jewelers

Cathy Calhoun, CGA, is a renowned gemologist, entrepreneur, and leader in the jewelry industry. She owns Calhoun Jewelers (PA) and Calhoun Estate Jewelers (CA), along with ventures in real estate and hospitality. A GIA Graduate Gemologist® and AGS Certified Gemologist® Appraiser, she has served as President of the American Gem Society and received numerous awards, including the Robert M. Shipley Award®. She actively contributes to industry and community organizations nationwide.

Cathy has also made numerous television appearances, showcasing her expertise in jewelry, antiques, and unique home restorations. She has been featured on PBS’s “Antiques Roadshow,” Good Morning America, Netflix’s “Amazing Interiors,” HGTV’s “If Walls Could Talk,” CNN Money’s “I Live in a Bank!”, and more, offering insights into luxury, history, and design.

John Carter, CGA

Jack Lewis Jewelers

John Carter, CGA, is the Owner of Jack Lewis Jewelers in Bloomington, IL. He has served on countless local boards and charitable organizations and has worn several hats within the jewelry industry. He is a past President of the American Gem Society International Board of Directors and previous chair of the American Gem Society Laboratories Advisory Board. He is also the recipient of the 2024 Robert M. Shipley Award®.

Jonathan Gold

National Retail Federation

Jonathan Gold is vice president of supply chain and customs policy at the National Retail Federation. In this role, Gold is a primary spokesperson and is responsible for representing the retail industry before Congress and the administration on supply chain, international trade, product safety and customs-related issues impacting the retail industry. While with NRF, he has been a leading advocate of the value of trade and global value chains to the U.S. economy.

Alexander A. Goodsuhm

Alex joined the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in the summer of 2022 as a research intern with the Colored Stones Research Group. Later that year, he became a Research Associate. He earned his M.S. in Geology from the University of Arkansas in 2022 and holds a Graduate Gemologist® (GG) diploma.

Adam Graham, CSA, is a Director of Sales for Joshua J Fine Jewelry. He has held executive positions with the American Gem Society, the Rapaport Group, Saks Fifth Avenue, the American Gem Trade Association, Omi Gems, and Erica Courtney. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and has authored many articles in industry trade magazines. He has served as the President of the 24 Karat Club of Southern California and AGS Guilds. He was awarded the 2017 Sally Morton Award for his contributions to the AGS Guilds.

He spent several years working in, and then leading, Zale’s rough diamond buying, cutting, and production operation when they were a DTC Sightholder.
