For almost 25 years, Jewelers for Children (JFC) has worked to support the kids who need us most, such as those at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Over Christmas 2020, something was clearly wrong with one-year-old Mikayla. She was pale, didn’t want to eat or play, and didn’t giggle even when tickled. When bloodwork showed extremely low hemoglobin, she was hospitalized for several blood transfusions. These perked her up, but only temporarily. Then, a bone marrow biopsy showed Mikayla had blood cancer.
“There are experiences, I think, in human life where we run out of tears, and that was one of them,” recalls her dad, Juan Manuel. Mikayla was referred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, where her cancer was identified as acute myeloid leukemia.
Around this time, her great-grandmother received a certificate of appreciation for supporting St. Jude, to which she had donated for more than a decade. It seemed like a sign of hope. At St. Jude, Mikayla successfully underwent chemotherapy, and her family never received a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food. She is now finished with treatment and doing well. Her great-grandmother says, “Our Mikayla is back!’’

Donate to JFC for Conclave 2024
The JFC Silent Auction is a Conclave tradition and has helped raise over $600,000 for children in need. You’ll find JFC in the Networking Area, where you can catch a glimpse of the items up for auction!
A donation of jewelry is always welcome, as well as items like these:
- Unused time at your vacation condo
- Redeem some airline miles
- A donation from a friend or business in another industry
- Artwork, memorabilia, gift certificates—all are great auction items!

JFC Rings of Strength Charity 5K
Monday, April 15 / 6:30 a.m.–8:00 a.m.
Rise and sparkle! Join Jewelers for Children (JFC) for the Conclave edition of JFC’s Rings of Strength 5K.
Rings of Strength has helped raise over $420,000 for JFC, and in 2024, they will be holding their premier event in two cities, including Austin, TX, at Conclave. Each event features a 5K route that you can walk, jog, or run—whatever you desire!
