This month, we’re shining the spotlight on AGS supplier member, Dilamani. We had the opportunity to ask William Dilamani,
CEO and GIA Graduate Gemologist, a few questions 
about his company, trends, and how their pieces have been chosen to be worn on The Bachelorette.
For over four decades, Dilamani has created colorful designs that are timeless and on-trend. How did you get your start?
Our amazing journey started with a great partnership with my brother, George. We started the business in 1980 as emerald, ruby, and sapphire gem dealers in San Francisco, CA, and within a few years, moved and expanded our office to New York. We were importing gemstones from Thailand and Sri Lanka, and needed to work with a larger customer base in New York and on the East Coast.
In late 1980, we began to design and manufacture our own jewelry. That’s the start of Dilamani. We have always focused on staying ahead of the jewelry trends by having a strong design team and working with new manufacturing processes to offer a larger variety of fine jewelry to an ever-growing customer base. We always value the relationship we have with our clients; we want to help them expand their customer base by offering new designs and services.
As we grow our business, we’re happy to say the next generation of Dilamanis have entered the business. They bring amazing new insights, technology, and design ideas to our firm, and we’re excited by their energy and commitment. All this is to say, we’re ready for the next phase of growth!
What upcoming trends are you seeing for fine jewelry this season?
Yellow gold, strong color gemstones within statement pieces. Women self-purchases are a strong driving force in the jewelry business now.
How did Dilamani get chosen for ABC’s The Bachelorette series?
It was a nice referral through a good friend to the team at The Bachelorette. It’s been an amazing relationship.
