Jen Cullen Williams, the founder of Jen Cullen Williams Communications, is a seasoned and award-winning communications consultant known for her strategic insights, industry passion, and colorful wardrobe at events like the American Gem Society’s (AGS) Conclave. With a specialization in public relations for the jewelry, fashion, and luxury retail sectors, Jen has built a reputation for elevating brands and amplifying their stories through modern media communications and creative campaigns.
One of the most valuable benefits Jen sees in being an AGS member is the sense of community and shared commitment to excellence. AGS members are dedicated to upholding the highest standards, ethical practices, and continuous education in the jewelry industry. “For me, it’s all about the people and the community,” says Jen. Surrounded by leaders, rising stars, and diligent professionals who all “go the extra mile,” Jen finds their energy and drive inspiring and contagious.
Jen’s journey in communications began shortly after college in 2006, working at a fashion PR firm in Hollywood—before the era of Instagram and social media influencers. By 2007, she joined Luxury Brand Group, where she gained specialized experience in the jewelry industry. Fast forward to 2019, driven by a desire to create her own vision, Jen launched Jen Cullen Williams Communications. Today, she collaborates with clients across jewelry, fashion, and luxury retail, landing them in top industry publications and consumer media like Forbes, Vogue, Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), and The New York Times.
For those unfamiliar with her services, Jen describes her consultancy as a “behind-the-scenes partner dedicated to bringing clients’ stories and news to the forefront.” She combines her media relations, influencer partnerships, and event programming expertise to deliver impactful exposure for companies, particularly in the jewelry and luxury sectors. Whether collaborating with B2B clients, retailers, or trade shows, Jen connects the dots to elevate brands in creative and strategic ways.
One of Jen’s greatest assets is her extensive network. “My ‘Rolodex’—and yes, I still call it that—is one of my biggest assets!” Jen continues, “Over the years, I’ve built trusted relationships with editors, journalists, influencers, and industry powerhouses, which means I can get my clients in front of the right people. Whether it’s a quick text to an editor about a launch or planning a media trip for an event, these connections allow me to move the needle for my clients.”
Beyond PR, Jen’s commitment to the industry includes active roles on the boards and committees of organizations like the American Gem Society, Jewelers for Children, the Women’s Jewelry Association, and the JCK advisory board. For Jen, communications may be her profession, but the jewelry industry is her passion.
When asked what brings her the most fulfillment in her role, Jen highlights the joy of relationship-building and idea-sharing. “I love to keep a pulse on trends across various industries and connect the dots for clients in fresh ways. It’s rewarding to bring new ideas to the table, share inspiring examples, and ignite that spark within a team. There’s nothing like the excitement of turning a concept into a tangible strategy.”
Outside of her career, Jen is passionate about hot yoga, which she practices nearly five times a week. She’s also a fan of musical theater and live performances, which she finds to be instant mood-lifters. However, nothing compares to spending quality time with her seven-year-old daughter. Since relocating to San Diego, Jen enjoys exploring the city with her daughter and husband, planning outings that create lasting memories and joy.
